Every Saturday during school hours, college hours and work hours, my stomach has growled a little more because it knew what my mother would be treating it with as soon as I got back home. We’ve had a fixed menu, mostly for Saturday’s only for as long as I can remember-Amazing noodles tossed in a spicy, sweet sauce (Recipe for which I’ll be sharing soon) and a saucy, spicy and amazingly side of chicken for it to go with. Aaaahhhh!
Till date, we don’t really have a proper name for this yummy chicken and we call it the “Honey chicken” even though there’s no honey going into it. Hahahaha.
But, You could try adding some honey, if you like it sweet. This recipe mainly needs 4 main ingredients and the other 2 just staple ingredients. Easy and super quick recipe.
Mums also made this with prawns. Tastes just as good she said.
You can have this as a side to Chicken Fried Rice or some noodles.
INGREDIENTS:
10-15 bite-size boneless Chicken/ 7-8 chicken pieces with bone
2.5 tbsp Soya sauce
3 tbsp+1 tbsp Tomato sauce
2-3 green chilies
1 tbsp oil
Salt to taste
Note:
*Make sure not to overcook the chicken and make it dry. There needs to be some sauce in the end.
*Add salt only if required. Soya sauce by itself is salty.
*Add little water ONLY if there’s no residual gravy.
*The spicier, the better.
*If you intend to add honey, add about 1/2 tsp towards the end.
*Want to add an Indian touch, garnish with chopped onions and coriander leaves.
METHOD:
In a non-stick pan, add the soya and 3 tbsp tomato sauce, chilies and chicken and let it cook on low flame with a closed lid.
When the chickens almost cooked, add 1 tbsp oil and 1 tbsp tomato sauce and toss.

Serve with Fried rice or Noodles!
